What makes the Lexus UX 200 and UX 250h different?

If the Lexus UX subcompact SUV is on your shopping list, then you’re on the right track. This product offers impressive performance, fuel economy that will leave a smile on your face, in addition to rock-solid reliability.

In fact, the only decision left is to choose the version that is right for you between the 200 and the 250h. Let's see what makes the two different.

1 - FWD or all-wheel drive?

The choice here is simple, because with the 200 model, you are offered only front-wheel drive. If you prefer a model offering all-wheel drive, then you will have to opt for the 250h version.

2 - Hybrid or not?

The base version of the UX is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline-only engine. With the 250h model, we add an electrical unit to this mechanism, so we take advantage of a hybrid approach. While it's obvious that the second offers better fuel economy, that doesn't mean the first can't be right for you. For example, on the highway, the difference in fuel consumption between the two models is only 0.1 liters per 100 kilometers. If this is where you spend the majority of your time behind the wheel, this is worth considering. In the city, the difference is more noticeable, 8 liters per 100 kilometers for the gasoline version, 5.7 liters per 100 km for the hybrid one.

3 - Equipment and options

Both the 2021 Lexus UX 200 and 2021 Lexus UX 250h offer a generous list of standard features. If you want more options and amenities, however, then you have to go with the 250 h variant, because two other option groups can be added to the latter, namely Luxury and F Sport Series 2. With the Luxury group, buyers will enjoy a head-up display, an integrated garage door opener, an interior mirror with automatic dimming, wireless charging for cellular devices and a tailgate that opens with the movement of the foot.

In other words, both the Lexus UX 200 and UX 250h have a lot to offer. That said, the Lexus UX 250h is more efficient and can get all-wheel drive, but is also more expensive.
