2021 Lexus UX safety technologies

The Lexus UX may be the smallest vehicle in the Lexus lineup, but it doesn't sacrifice safety, offering you and your loved ones a calm and welcoming environment where you know you will be safe.

Let's take a look at what comes standard with the 2021 Lexus UX.

Lane Keeping Assist System

The Lane Keeping System is made up of a host of technologies that are designed to help prevent you from going out of your lane unintentionally. It works by recognizing the lines of the road as well as the vehicle which precedes you. Should you swerve from your lane with activating your turn signal, the system will alert you. The steering wheel also vibrates, to warn us of a potential danger. Should the driver fail to react, the system will take the necessary steps to correct the trajectory.

Pre-collision system with pedestrian detection

If your Lexus UX anticipates a collision with an obstacle ahead, it will react in different ways. First, it will send you a frontal collision alert, which will give you time to react to apply the brakes. Should the driver fail to react, the automatic emergency braking engages. Its objective is of course to avoid an impact or at the very least to significantly reduce the consequences of an accident.

The system also detects cyclists and pedestrians during the day, as well as pedestrians in low light, i.e. at sunset, but before dark.

Automatic high beam headlights

The Lexus UX can automatically turn on the high beams, and then turn them off when an oncoming vehicle is detected. This makes life quite a bit easier for you as you are not constantly fiddling with the high beams and you always have the best visibility.

With all of these elements, you can take the road with confidence behind the wheel of a Lexus UX.
