2022 Lexus NX vs. The Competition: The NX Offers More For Less

The all-new Lexus NX is now the most competitive member of its segment thanks to a complete overhaul that brought new styling, new technologies as well as new powertrains in a value-packed package that the competition can’t beat. Moreover, the NX is priced to remain accessible to every type of luxury crossover buyer. And for those who didn’t know, it is manufactured right here in Ontario using the best of Canada’s workforce and automotive assembly techniques.

Here, we compare the 2022 Lexus NX with the competition to see how it stands out.

The 2022 Lexus NX balances power and efficiency

The all-new Lexus NX offers a broader choice of powertrains than its rivals. First, base models use a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that outputs 203 horsepower. The NX 350 is powered by an all-new turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder that outputs 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft torque.

Next, the NX 350h combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor to deliver 240 horsepower very efficiently. Finally, the Lexus 450h+ is the segment’s best plug-in hybrid. It pairs a four-cylinder 2.5-litre engine with an electric motor to provide a combined output of 304 horsepower. This is way more power than the BMW X3’s hybrid model, which only delivers 288 hp.

The NX 450h + lets you travel up to 61 kilometres on a single charge without using a single drop of gas. That’s more than the Audi Q5’s PHEV model, which can only travel 37 kilometres when fully charged.

The 2022 Lexus NX is more accessible and more reliable

The 2022 Lexus NX starts at $47,400, which is more affordable than its rivals. But the hybrids are also more competitive than their rivals, with the 350h priced at $49,900, and the 450h+ at $59,950. The XC60 Recharge, for example, is priced at $64,950.

The NX also provides more driving dynamics than ever before, with F Sport Handling Package which comes with the adaptive suspension for a more precise ride and cornering.

Let’s also mention that the NX is more reliable and less expensive to maintain that its German rivals, making it a much better buy on the long run. Come see the NX today! You can also shop for your Lexus online with us. Our representatives await your call and can answer all your questions.
